Brother of the Year

Each year, we Brothers of the Alpha Phi chapter of Lambda Chi Alpha choose a special Brother to be spotlighted and receive the title of “Brother of the Year.” He is held above the rest and commended for many outstanding traits. For the fall of 2008, we have chosen Brother Alex Jospin Cohn, AΦ 1398.

Alex Cohn was born in Gadsden, Alabama, and is currently attending the University of Alabama. He is 21 years of age and plans to major in accounting. His incredible grade point average of 4.0 deems him as one of the smartest Brothers of this chapter.

In the past two years, Alex has participated in the High Zeta of our chapter, taking on the leadership roles of High Sigma in 2007, and High Phi in 2008. Following this past year, Alex bravely assumed the role of High Phi, devoting an unheard of amount of time in learning what he needed to know, as well as creating an entire associate member program almost from scratch, in order to better prepare our spring associates for their initiation ceremonies. He has been a key part in regaining momentum this past year.

“Alex is a great guy and he will always be there for you if you need him,” said his friend and fellow Brother, Patrick Evans (AΦ 1382). It is Alex’s kind disposition and friendly attitude that grants him the rare ability to make friendships quite easily with almost each and every type of person he meets.
Another friend, former High Alpha Zach Lee (AΦ 1357), stated, “Alex is one of the most dependable Brothers I have ever seen. He always puts others first."

I feel Alex Cohn deserves the title of “Brother of the Year.” He has done an overwhelming amount of work for this chapter, and on behalf of all the Brothers of Alpha Phi Zeta, I commend you on an outstanding job. Well done Alex, and congratulations!
