Life in the New House

This is our life in the new House. For some, it is just like old times, only the House is much nicer this time around, and hasn’t posed much of a problem to get back into the swing of things. For others, it is a brand new experience and a very well-welcomed change from the nasty dorm room life of freshman year. And for the rest of us, it is a beautiful house we can come visit any time for food, friends, and relaxation after a long day in class, even if we don’t sleep there at night.
“I love the new House,” said Aaron Amacker (AΦ 1463), a brother who lives outside of the House. “It’s more than I thought it would be. In my opinion, it is the best house on campus. I enjoy coming around much more and I appreciate all the hard work and dedication put into its making.”
Brothers from past and present enjoy the beautiful country-club style and welcoming feel it exudes. From lounging in the tube room, to dinner in the dining room, to music in the band room, this House is quickly becoming home to each and every Brother. An all access fridge and buffet line makes late night studying much more bearable, and the extremely comfortable couches make a mid-afternoon nap almost inevitable.
“Living in the House allows me to be close to my Brothers, as well as be close to campus,” stated Josh Roberts (AΦ 1445), a tenant of the House, when asked how he felt about living in the new House. Many enjoy the location just as much as the House itself. Compared to old dorm rooms and apartments that were so far away, walking to class from the House is incredibly convenient.
Matt Kabus (AΦ 1465), a tenant living in the new wing of the House, said, “I love it. Although it’s cold in the morning sometimes, it’s very nice. The only downfall, the ONLY one, is the noise from the band room when you don’t want it.”
“Compared to the old House before the renovations, this one is incredibly nicer. The old one was so nasty,” said Joel Reaves (AΦ 1410), a Brother who lived in both the old House and the new one. We all believe that when judged against any other fraternity house on campus, the Alpha Phi chapter of Lambda Chi Alpha boasts the finest of them all. Even Dr. Witt, President of the University of Alabama, feels such is true.
Each and every Brother of Lambda Chi Alpha is more than appreciative for the chance to live in and utilize this extraordinary House. The time and commitment taken to create such a beautiful splendor is beyond all of us, and there couldn’t be a better time to live in the House. It truly is magnificent.
